How it works
Most apps hand you a calorie number on day one and never look at it again. Recomp Coach treats that number as a hypothesis and tests it against your body every week.
Sets on the gym floor with ghost values and a rest timer in a Live Activity. Meals by camera, barcode, label scan or plain English. A morning weigh-in.
Your weight trend against what you logged gives your real energy expenditure - not a formula frozen on day one. Recovery from your wearable is read every morning.
Weekly, capped, never below your floors, and every change comes with its reasoning. A rough night trims today's session instead of leaving the call to you.
Inside the app
Five tabs - Today, Train, Eat, Progress, Recover - and one voice across all of them.

Recovery, today's session call and your targets on one card. Apply it in a tap.

HRV, resting heart rate and sleep become one score - and a real training decision.

Every set, meal and night's sleep is in the room. It advises; it never sets your numbers.

Ghost values, plate maths, warm-up ramps, PR detection, supersets and drop sets.

Weekly volume audited across 24 muscle regions, plus strength ranks per lift.

Snap it and it becomes macros. Barcode, label scan and plain-English logging too.
Everything in one place
Calories and macros recalculated weekly from your weigh-ins and food log. Capped changes, hard calorie floors, and the reasoning shown every time.
Connect a wearable and rough mornings get a trimmed session - or a guilt-free rest-day call. Nothing is gated behind owning one.
Ghost values, one-tap repeat sets, plate calculator, warm-up ramps, supersets, drop sets, PR detection and a rest timer in a Live Activity. Every fortnight, a test set that learns how honest your effort calls are.
Snap a meal and it becomes macros. Scan a barcode or a nutrition label. Describe what you ate in plain English. 21,000+ foods offline, worldwide database online.
Tap any of 24 regions for its weekly sets, what's under-trained, and the one change that fixes it. Strength ranks per muscle from your best lifts.
An AI coach with your whole context in the room - every set, meal and night's sleep. It advises; only the maths can touch your targets. A weekly allowance is free.
Applies your weekly targets for you, breaks stalls with a concrete deload plan, and trims sessions after a rough night - always with the reasoning attached.
Record a supplement, medication or compound and the Coach plans around it: water windows on the trend, a raised protein rate, appetite-aware meals, a post-course window on the stall detector. 250 entries, each with training, food and recovery notes - published here. No dose, ever.
Home and Lock Screen widgets. Weekend calorie cycling and a guided Sunday review. Weight trend with a goal corridor, e1RM charts, PR wall, monthly Wrapped, a private leaderboard among friends. Your model - a page of what the Coach has learned about you. My gym - photograph your floor and the app plans around what is there. Import from Strong or Hevy in a minute; export everything, any time. Every feature, on one page.
Why Recomp Coach?
Every other tracker computes your calories once, from a formula, and then trusts it forever. Your metabolism doesn't work like that - it moves with your weight, your training and how much you actually eat. Recomp Coach uses the formula only as a starting anchor, then measures your real expenditure from your own weigh-ins and food log and re-fits it every week. If your data is patchy, it says so and holds, instead of guessing.
Nobody else closes the loop between recovery, food and training. Workout loggers don't know what you ate. Macro apps don't know you slept four hours. Recomp Coach reads all three from the same signal, so a rough morning changes today's session and today's plate - and a good one lets you push.
It shows its working. Every proposed change carries its reasoning: your trend, your logged intake, your goal pace, and the floors it will never cross. You can disagree with a number because you can see where it came from.
The AI advises. The maths decides. Ask Coach knows your entire history and talks like a coach who read your log - but proposals only ever come from the deterministic engine. A chatbot cannot set your calorie target here, by design.
No account, no upload, no lock-in. Your training history, food log and body data live on your phone. Import from Strong or Hevy in a minute; export everything, any time. The core is free forever - not a trial.

A Mifflin-St Jeor anchor blended with your measured expenditure by confidence · trend weight by exponential smoothing · velocity by least-squares fit · 7,700 kcal/kg energy balance · evidence-based weekly pace limits · absolute calorie floors and a refusal to propose below 85% of BMR · autopilot that declines to auto-apply near-floor cuts. Optional blood pressure and glucose readings are placed against the published ACC/AHA and ADA ranges and never lower a target.

Start free, upgrade in-appYour data
Your training history, food log and body data live in one database on your phone. There is no server copy to breach, sell or lose.
Ask Coach, photo food logging and the gym-floor scan call Google Gemini through our own server, which holds the API key and rate-limits by device. The app keeps its own tally of everything it has sent. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
The optional leaderboard shares only what you choose, under a display name, and withdraws it the moment you switch it off.
If you connect a Fitbit or Pixel watch, the app requests read-only access to three kinds of Google Health data, and uses them for exactly one purpose - computing and displaying your daily recovery score and training guidance:
Nothing is written back to your Google account, the data is stored on your own device, and it is never sold or used for advertising. You can disconnect at any time from the Recover tab, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Questions
No. Training, nutrition, progress and the weekly target updates all work without one. A wearable adds the daily recovery score, which lets the Coach trim a session or sanction a rest day. Supported today: Apple Watch (through Apple Health), WHOOP, Oura, and Fitbit or Pixel Watch (through your Google account).
Yes - and free is not a trial. Logging, your full history, charts, personal records, the muscle map, every exercise animation, the recovery score, your complete data export and every safety limit stay free permanently, along with a weekly allowance of Ask Coach messages, meal photos and one physique read.
Pro is optional. It covers unlimited Ask Coach, AI meal logs and physique reads, Autopilot, stall breakers and self-trimming sessions. The price is shown in your own currency in the app before you buy anything, monthly or yearly, and both plans start with a 7-day free trial.
On day one, from your profile with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation - the same starting point a dietitian would use. From then on, your smoothed weight trend against your logged intake gives a measured energy expenditure, which is blended with the formula in proportion to how much complete data you have. Targets move weekly, by capped amounts, at an evidence-based pace for your goal, and never below absolute calorie floors. Every change shows this reasoning in the app.
No. Ask Coach can read everything and advise on anything, but a proposal to change your targets can only come from the deterministic engine - plain arithmetic over your own logs. That boundary is deliberate: it is what stops a language-model mistake from setting someone's calorie target.
Yes. Export a CSV from Strong or Hevy and import it in Settings - your PRs, ranks and history come with it. Everything in Recomp Coach can be exported again at any time.
Recomp Coach is iPhone-only today (iOS 15.1 or later). If Android matters to you, say so at support - it genuinely shapes what gets built next.
No. Recomp Coach is a fitness and nutrition tool, not a medical device. It gives general guidance from your own logged data; it does not diagnose, treat or make medical claims. Talk to a doctor or an accredited dietitian before changing how you eat or train, and especially before recording medications or health readings you have questions about.
